Do we need supplements?

We are not eating the same foods our great-parents ate, nor are we living the same lifestyles. Our earth's environment is different as is our work environment. Foods are often picked before becoming ripe. When we eat food picked before it is ripe, it decreases the nutrient content of that food. Many of today's food are processed with extra ingredients such as fillers and preservatives. Today, a modern loaf of bread contains over 100 ingredients including preservatives, coloring agents, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides and chemical residues from various packaging and cleaning procedures.

What is Nutrition?

Nutrition is the intake of food in relation to the body's dietary needs. Good nutrition - an adequate, well balanced diet combined with regular physical activity - is a cornerstone of good health. Poor nutrition can lead to reduced immunity, increased susceptibility to disease, impaired physical and mental development and reduced productivity. (Nutrition as defined by World Health Organization, WHO)

Nutrition is the study of the relationship between food and health or disease, especially in determining an optimal diet for the purposes of health, weight loss, body building or other purposes.
